Ogun State Teaching Service Commission has disclosed that OgunTeach interns who have completed their mandatory two-year internship programme have been permanently employed as teachers in all public secondary schools in the State.
The Commission's Permanent Secretary, Mr. Idowu Onasanya, disclosed this while presenting the performance of the Commission during the ongoing 2026 budget half -year appraisal of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies(MDAs), before the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, in company of the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Babatunde Tella, alongside other members at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Onasanya explained that the promotional exercises for teaching service staff for 2023 and 2024 had been executed, while plans were underway for the 2025 and 2026 exercises, subject to approval by the State Government.
On recruitment, he disclosed that preparations were also being made for the 2027 exercise, adding that the OgunTeach interns who had just completed their mandatory two-year internship programme had been permanently employed; while another batch that would complete their internship by December would also be considered for permanent employment.
The lawmakers also interfaced with the management teams of Abraham Adesanya ICT Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, led by its Deputy Rector, Dr. Sherifat Akindele and the D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, represented by its Bursar, Mr. Julius Ayodele.
Others agencies that had their budget performance appraised included the State Ministry of Forestry and the Forestry Plantation Project (Area J4)
