Ogun Govt Signs MOU With FUMMSA On Leasing Of School Property

The Ogun State Government and the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the lease of Prof. Adeoye Lambo Model School, Onijanganjangan as a temporary site for the take-off of the medical institution's operations.

 The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu during the presentation of the agreement to the Vice Chancellor of the school, Prof. Fatiu Arogundade at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta, said the signing and handing over of the MoU was done on behalf of the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun

Prof. Arigbabu, noted that the facility was granted solely as a temporary site for the establishment, operations, development and any other purposes related activities of the institution without any financial consideration.

The Commissioner said according to the agreement, ‘’the institution is authorised to erect, manage, operate and maintain such permanent and temporary structures in the facility as may be reasonably required for the purpose in line with physical development, town planning and land use approval which the State Government shall not unreasonably withhold or delayed".

 Arigbabu, stated that Ogun State Government and the people will benefit maximally from the University in terms of commerce and other benefits attached to it, appreciating the Federal Government for bringing such a milestone achievement to the State.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor of (FUMMSA), Prof. Fatiu Arogundade, expressed his special thanks to the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who graciously loan the site to them, that as long as the institution need it, it should continue to use it, saying the school do not have any authority to dispose of it or hand it over to any other body. Rather if they no longer need it, they would return it back to the State government.

Prof. Fatiu Arogundade, lauded the Commissioner for his passion, commitment and selflessness in achieving the agreement at the long run, thanking him for all the efforts putting in to make the Memorandum of Understanding come to reality.
