The team defeated Ilupeju Raiders 66-52 in a thrilling final played on Sunday at the Alake Sports Complex in Ijeja, Abeokuta, the State capital
Both sides ended first quarter 16-16 , before NCBC won the second quarter 27-16 to take the lead by eleven points and the half-time scores at 43-32
The highly enterprising NCBC extended their lead in the third quarter of the final 13-10, widening the score at 56-42
Both sides ended the fourth quarter 10-10 as NCBC maintained their fourteen points lead to end the final at 66-52
The Ilupeju Raiders who finished as runners-up in the three-day youth basketball competition, received a giant dummy cheque for a N1.5 million cash prize while third placed winners, Game Elevate also received a giant dummy cheque for a N1million cash prize
Communication and Digital Economy Minister, Dr. Bosun Tijani whose foundation initiated the competition, said the essence of the tournament was to provide the opportunity for the youths to express themselves, using sports to promote team spirit and possibilities among the youths inline with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration
He appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for investing in the development of sports, lauding the State Sports Development Commissioner, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, the coaches and players of the participating 12 teams across Nigeria and other corporate organizations for ensuring the huge success of the tournament
The highly impressed minister who revealed his interest to invest in a basketball team, also expressed the readiness of the foundation to hold the competition in the Ogun State by next year's December
Similarly Governor Dapo Abiodun represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo pledged his administration continued investment in youths, particularly through sports in the state
Governor Abiodun lauded the Bosun Tijani Foundation for the initiative to harness the talents of youths through the game of basketball, appreciating the players for promoting the spirit of sportsmanship and unity among the teams that participated in the competition
Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Oba's, Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewa land, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle , Baba Oba of Owu-Kingdom and basketball icon, Chief Alabi Adelanwa and top sports administrators amongst other dignitaries watched the action-packed final
