NLC Pleads With Abiodun To Review Transportation Palliative Upward To N25,000 For Ogun Govt's Workers




Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has pleaded with Governor Dapo Abiodun to review upward the current N10,000 transportation palliative being paid to  workers on the payroll of the State Government, introduced as part of measures to cushion the effect of the nation-wide economic hardship in the state

The State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola who made the plea in a letter addressed to the governor on behalf of the union of which a copy was obtained by Edu-Biznews on Monday in Abeokuta, is calling for conversion of the current transportation palliative to N25,000 wage award for public and core-workers and N20,00 for pensioners on the payroll of the State Government 

"The Congress is passionately appealing to your good office to review the palliative and convert it to wage award in this  distribution: Public & Core workers - #25,000, Pensioners - #20,000"  

The union added that the prompt convertion of the transportation palliative to wage award for workers, would further increase the level of trust and sincerity of the organized labour in the present administration in the state

"The National Living wage will be rounding up very soon and d payment may not exceed one or two months in writing Our dear State in Gold.

"His Excellency, this singular action will award your administration more trust, sincerity and support from the Organized Labour and workers at large", the union stated 

The State NLC in the letter, however commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration for its prompt responses to various demands of workers in the state, particularly the payment of the current N10,000 transportation palliative 

"The Congress leadership is appreciating your administration for prompt responses to the plights of the teaming workers in various areas of demand. We are indeed grateful sir."

"The leadership will not be grateful if failed in specially appreciating your kind gesture in d payment of #10,000 monthly payment as transportation palliative to all workers and pensioners. It is highly commendable and appreciated sir", the union concluded
