Indeed, Nashville International School, Lekki, Lagos, was agog as family members, colleagues, friends and partners turned out in their numbers to rejoice with the delectable intellectual and Minister of God at the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Among attendees at the event were the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, members of Council and Management of Lagos State University.

The celebrant accompanied by her husband and son, was all resplendent in moon blue lace iro and buba complete with gele and ipele; her excitement palpable as she welcomed guests shortly before the commencement of a birthday thanksgiving service which held at the school.

During the service, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, preached on the topic, *"The Gift of Gratitude: Jesus' Prescription for Celebrating Birthdays"*, using Psalm 90:12 as reference, she averred that Christ expects celebrants to give thanks for all physical blessings and spiritual blessings - thank God publicly and praise Him because He is good.

As if taking a cue from the brief sermon, the celebrant - Prof. Adenike Omotunde Boyo expressed gratitude to God for sparing her life to see the day. She also showered accolades on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi I. Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, who insisted that she celebrate the day even when she didn't plan to.

The reception programme then followed at the same venue as a popular band entertained the guests before family and friends were invited to pay tribute to the celebrant.

From then on, it was tribute after tribute for the highly accomplished academic who had her P.hD in Physics  from the University of Ilorin in 2004. She became a professor of Physics in 2011, the first female to achieve the feat in the Department of Physics.

The LASU constituency was well represented at the event with members of staff and staff unions, members of MOWLAS and MOMLAS, amongst others.
