How Team-Ogun Shooting Coach Won Five Medals At 2nd National Para-Games In Abuja




Team-Ogun despite not getting the financial support of the State Government for participation at  the last 2nd National Para-Games held in Abuja, the Nigeria's capital city, still finished in the 16th position with five medals on the overall medals table at the end of the sports fiesta for physically challenged athletes 

Coach Idris Oguntayo of the State Shooting Association turned out to be the hero for the state, as he single handedly sourced for the needed money to fund the trip of four Shooters and paid their registration fees for participation at the sport fiesta which ended on 14th of December,2023 



The highly determined coach was able to successfully register the four  Shooters on the eve of the commencement of the games, which eventually justified their participation, winning two gold , one silver and two bronze at the end of the shooting event in the sports fiesta 




The shooters including Ileyemi Yinka and Salako Kehinde who won gold in Women's Double Rifle event and Adeniji Adedimeji who clinched silver in the Individual Rifle event

Ileyemi also clinched a bronze in the Individual Pistol event, Adeniji Adedimeji increased his medal haul, winning gold in the Individual Pistol event while Salako Kehinde Ajoke added a bronze in the Individual Pistol Women event 










The 2nd National Para-Games according to Coach Idris Oguntayo, is also being used for the Shooters to gain valuable points to ease qualification for the Paris 2024 Para-Olympic events
