Ogun State Council of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has written a letter of commendation to Governor Dapo Abiodun in appreciation of the approved Christmas bonuses ranging between N20,000 and N100,000, which workers on the payroll of the State Government have started receiving Credit Alert from their respective bank accounts , hours to the celebration of the festive period
The State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola confirming the payment of the bonuses to various categories of workers, was full of praises in the open letter obtained by Edu-Biznews on Sunday, the eve of this year's Christmas celebration by Christians
He described the act as first of its kind in the state at a time when workers in the country are facing serious hardship, arising from prevailing economic challenges
"This act of kindness and recognition is truly a first of its kind in Ogun State, and it has brought immense joy and gratitude to the hearts of the working class"
The payment according to him, has provided much-needed relief and respite for the people of Ogun State.
"This Christmas bonus will undoubtedly go a long way in enabling the workers to celebrate the festive season in a grand style, despite the prevailing economic challenges. We are deeply grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity", he stated
Benco-Ademola while appreciating the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration commitment to the welfare of workers in the past four years, assured government of the labour's continuous support in ensuring sustainance of economic growth of the State
"Your Excellency, we pledge our unwavering support and commitment to the vision and ideals of your administration. We remain dedicated to the progress and development of Ogun State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a whole. May Ogun State continue to flourish under your able leadership, and may the Federal Republic of Nigeria experience sustained growth and prosperity", he concluded in the letter
Edu-Biznews recalled that Governor Abiodun on Friday before close of work, gave last minute approval for payment of the bonuses between N20,000 and N100,000 depending on grade levels of each of the workers
