OGTV, NTA, OGBC, RockcityFm, 12 Others Battle For Title As Ogun SWAN Holds Second Media Cup On June





Media organizations in Ogun State including  the Ogun State Television (OGTV,), Nigeria Television Authority Abeokuta(NTA) , the State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Rockcity 101.9Fm and 12 others will be competing in the second edition of Ogun SWAN Media Cup which holds between 1st of  June and ,8th of June, 2023 

Others contesting for the title are Radio Nigeria/Paramount 94.5, Abeokuta, Super FM,Ijebu-Ode, Oodua99.9Fm Abeokuta, Splash 106.7fm Abeokuta, Family 88.5fm, Abeokuta, Eagles 7Sports Radio 103.7Fm Abeokuta, Smash 88.1Fm, Abeokuta, Federated Chapel , Consolidation Chapel as well as the State Ministry of information chapel and Freelance Independent  Broadcasters of Nigeria(FIBAN ) 

In a draw for the competition being sponsored by Otunba Segun Sowunmi held on Monday at the MKO Abiola International Stadium Abeokuta secretariat of the Ogun State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN), saw 
defending champions, 
Consolidation Chapel taking on the State Information chapel for a place in quarter-final stage while Super FM clash  with NTA in a first round fixture

Other first round fixtures include 
Oodua FM taking on Rock city, both State owned broadcasting organizations OGTV and OGBC battling for a quarter final ticket

Also Splash FM will do battle with Correspondents chapel, 
Family FM try  Paramount FM who came third in the last edition for a size , debutants  Eagle 7 FM and Federated chapel will compete for the quarter-final while last year's runners up, Smash FM  take on Fiban

The competition according to the SWAN Secretary, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji is a 5-Aside Football competition among practicing journalists in the state.

The competition is sponsored by a sports enthusiast and public analyst, Otunba Segun Showunmi.

The football tourney is designed in a knockout format  beginning from June 1 till  June 8, 2023.

Ogunsiji added that the16 media stations in Ogun state and chapels under the umbrella of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council would play
all the matches  at the fun turf of MKO Abiola International
stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.

He noted that the competition is to foster unity and camaraderie among journalists in the state.

The Association, therefore, urged all media stations and NUJ Chapels to play according to the rules of the game.
