Nine thousands, two hundred and thirty-two (9,232 ) eligible teaching and non-teaching staff on grade levels 07 to 16 in primary schools across Ogun State are participating in the ongoing 2021/2022 promotion interview being conducted by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB)
The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi who disclosed this during an interview with newsmen in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the exercise included officers seeking upgrading and inter-cadre transfers.
Majekodunmi stated that the exercise would be held simultaneously in the four divisions of the State, namely, Remo, Ijebu, Yewa, and Egba, adding that the exercise became imperative to enhance their productivity.
He assured teachers that after the conclusion of the exercise, the State Government would release promotion letters to successful officers immediately, advising them to reciprocate the government's gesture by exhibiting full commitment to their official duties.
The SUBEB boss commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his support in revitalising the education sector through a conducive learning environment under the “Yellow Roof Revolution” for teachers and learners across the State primary schools, noting that it had also prioritised teachers’ welfare, progress and development.
‘’This is evidenced by the construction and rehabilitation of classrooms to improve the standard of education in both public primary and junior secondary schools, as well as the provision of furniture to learners and teachers, which are expected to boost the morale of the teaching force in the State’’, he stated
The promotion excercise which started on Tuesday, is expected to end on March 20, 2023
