Independent National Electoral Commission has faulted the claim of over voting in Ekiti State won by the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, saying the number of 315,472 votes cast is below over 350,000 accredited voters
National Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu who later announced the continuation of the collation of results of the 2023 presidential poll till this Tuesday 11am, explained on Monday in Abuja, that 315, 058 valid votes we're recorded out of the total votes cast
The INEC boss had earlier before the closure at 10pm on Monday, announced the results of Osun, Ekiti, Kwara, Oyo, Ondo , Ogun , Enugu, Gombe and Yobe States with the major four political parties,Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)
having their shares of the results
APC won in Ogun State with 341,554 votes ahead of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 123,831 votes , Labour Party scored 85,829 votes and New Nigeria Peoples Party with just 2,200 votes
The party also declared winner in Oyo State with 449,884 votes, PDP (182,977), LP(99,110) while NNPP recorded 4,095
For Kwara, APC polled 263,572 votes followed by PDP who scored 136,909 votes, LP polled 31,166 votes while NNPP polled 3,141 votes.
Similarly in Ondo, APC polled 369,924, ahead of PDP who scored 115,463, LP – 44,405 while NNPP scored 930
In Osun, PDP won with 354,366 votes closely followed by APC who polled 343,945, LP 23,283, NNPP 713, and .
PDP also won in Yobe State, scoring 198,567 votes while APC polled 151,459 votes
The party equally won in Gombe
while LP clinched Enugu
The INEC National Chairman adjoined the collation to enable the state collation officers for the presidential election (SCOPs) in the remaining states.
