Ogun 2023 Poll: APP, Guber Candidate Disown Disqualification Suit Against Otegbeye As ADC Guber Flagsbearer.. Vows To Take Legal Action Against Sponsors

Action Peoples Party (APP) and its governorship candidate, Olufemi Falana in Ogun State  have again disassociated themselves from the ongoing suit said to had been filed by the party before Federal High Court in Abeokuta which is seeking
the disqualification of another governorship candidate, Barrister Olubiyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress ADC from the 2023 poll

The party had two weeks ago   distanced itself from the online publication seeking similar disqualification of Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressive Congress from the race

The State Chairman of APP, Biola Martins and Secretary, Adebisi Samuel in a joint statement on Monday in Abeokuta, described the suit in the court as malicious whose main objective is to pitch the party and its governorship candidate against Otegbeye

APP in the statement vowed to take legal action against the sponsors of the suit which the party described as provocative, nefarious and act of cowardice

The party says  is ready to contest the 2023 governorship poll with Otegbeye and not seeking the disqualification of a person whom according to APP is a reputation candidate for the race

The party expressed its commitment to the peace and tranquility of the state irrespective of political differences

The statement reads in part: "We are by this release disassociating our great party and its gubernatorial candidate from the malicious court suit, whose main objective is to pitch us against Barrister Olubiyi Otegbeye"

"We consider Barrister Olubiyi Otegbeye as a reputable candidate with whom our party wants to compete with at the poll "

"Asking for his disqualification could therefore be cowardice of our great party"

"We shall therefore leave no stone unturned to press charges against the sponsors of this nefarious court suit. We remain commited to the peace and tranquility of Ogun State, despite our political differences", the statement concluded
