Ogun Govt Upgrades Skills Of Civil Servants To Cope With Modern Trend

Ogun State Government has begun the process of training its workforce to cope with challenges of  modern trend in the application of technology to enhance efficiency in the conduct of business of governance 

The Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Public Service Transformation Office (PSTO), Mr. Jola Oyeneye expressed the present government's determination to enhance the intellectual ability of Civil Servants, to meet the demands of modern day technology.

Oyeneye who was speaking in Abeokuta, during a day training for the management and staff of the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs with the theme "The Growth Mindset", stressed the importance of the training which is targeted at  opening the minds of Civil Servants to current trends needed in the discharge of their duties, as the world was gradually changing while the workforce  could not be left behind.

He pointed out that “a growth mindset person always sees opportunities to explore and not see it as fruitless and worthless effort”, 

Oyeneye charged the participants to always adopt the spirit of new ways of discharging their duties while on the Job, as it would go a long way in making the Civil Service more efficient.

Earlier in his address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi lauded the PSTO team  for coming up with the training, saying the move would avail Civil Servants the opportunities to meet up with the 21st century technology.

Akinlesi said “We need to totally move away from the analogue way of operations to the digitised ways of getting our work done efficiently. The era of paper files should have been long gone in the Civil Service’’.

 Mrs. Taiwo Adebiyi and Mr. Adewale Agoyun, while responding to the significance of the training, said it was an eye opener to the opportunities derivable in the use of modern technology in the public sector.
