Ogun State House of Assembly has warned elites , especially some of the traditional rulers who are fond of facilitating the release of arrested suspected cultists from the custody of police, to desist from such such act, so as to ensure culprits are made to face the wrath of the law
Speaker of the house, Right Honourable, Olakunle Oluomo gave the warning during resumed plenary on Tuesday in Abeokuta , following a personal explanation by the Deputy Majority Leader, Abdul Bashir Oladunjoye who expressed concern over renewed clashes among rival cultgroups in Sagamu which according to him, had claimed several lives in the area, leaving the residents in fear
The speaker in his response, asked police and other security agencies to intensify their efforts in ensuring the arrest of those involved in the killings, urging general public to always assist the security agencies by volunteering vital information that will lead to arrest of the culprits and their subsequent punishment inline with the provisions of the law in the state
Edu-biznews recalled the recent arrest of several suspected cultists in Abeokuta and other parts of the state from their various hide outs by the police which doused the tension generated by cults related clashes and killings in the past few months
