Abiodun Praises Former Deputy Gov.Kaka At 70 For Donating 200-Seater Auditorium To Abraham Adesanya Poly




Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State  has praised former Deputy Governor, Sen. Adegbenga Kaka for donating a 200 Seater Auditorium to Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo in commemoration of his 70th birthday celebration.

Abiodun during the formal handing over of  the Alhaja Idiat Adebisi Kaka 200-seater auditorium, described the celebrant as a revered statesman with a passion for public service which he started as State Commissioner for Agriculture in Ogun State in 1988, lauding him for the upliftment of mankind.

Represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Abiodun noted that Kaka's life was an admirable narrative of self-effacing, yet impactful life of service, as well as an inspiring reference point of benevolence as evidenced in the donation.

Acknowledging him as a pillar of support in his journey to office as Governor, he added that he had earned a reputation of forthrightness, discipline, consistency and commitment to principles for which he would be forever known for.

Governor Dapo Abiodun prayed Almighty Allah to preserve his life in good health and sound mind to remain a source of pride and inspiration for generations to come.

On his part, the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, appreciated the donor, urging others to emulate the humanitarian gesture by giving back to the society, appealing to parents not to leave moral and educational trainings to school teachers.

In his remarks, the celebrant and the donor of the auditorium, Kaka, appreciated Almighty Allah for His grace and mercy and everyone that have contributed meaningfully to his life and the development of education in the State. 

Earlier in her welcome address, the Rector, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, Prof. Bilesanmi Awoderu, represented by the Institution’s acting librarian, Mrs. kehinde Ogunbote, said the handing over of the 200-seater lecture hall was a testimony of the prowess of the donor in the record of infrastructural development of the polytechnic.

Prof. Bilesanmi commended the donor for complimenting government’s efforts towards developing the institution to an enviable height, and acknowledged that government alone could not successfully fund education.

Highlight of the event was presentation of the sum of N2.5m to the Awolowo foundation by the celebrant.
