Abiodun Meets NIPS DG, Says Purposeful, Good Leadership Responsible For Performance



Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has attributed his outstanding performance in running the present administration to the purposeful and good leadership being exhibited by him in the last three years.

Abiodun stated this while receiving members of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies led by its Director-General Prof. Ayo Omotayo, who was on a courtesy visit to his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta

According to him, the ISEYA MANTRA of the present government, has improved the state socio-economic and human capital development of the state since the assumption of office. 


Represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Gov Abiodun said the development so far recorded in the state in the areas of infrastructures, social wellbeing, education, agriculture, and youth empowerment did not just happen by accident but due to the purposeful and good leadership

"Ogun State is the Gateway to Lagos and other parts of the country as well as some African countries. This has some advantages and disadvantages and there is need for us to increase human capacity because of the influx of people coming in from different ethnic groups in Nigeria and Africa. This also informed our decision to improve our infrastructural development, most importantly roads construction because roads are a social economic barometer for easy flow of movement" he said 

He noted that his administration’s vision was to make Ogun a state of reference in Nigeria, investors preferred destination of choice, adding that the needed parameters are put in place to make Ogun an enviable one.

Earlier in his remarks, the DG of the Institute, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, said the Institute engages, reflects, and researches government activities, explaining that they were independent accessors of what goes on in each state in Nigeria.

He said the theme of the study tour, 'Strengthening Local Governance in Nigeria: Challenges Option and Opportunity became imperative because the institute annually has been setting a theme that is always in line with what the Presidency considers the problem confronting the country.
