Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State and Haven Hub Training Limited have signed an Educational Consultancy Agreement to provide quality diploma and certificate training, as well as customized employee programmes for public and private organizations.
The agreement is aimed at delivering training that is locally relevant and internationally competitive, to support business initiatives and drive economic growth across Africa.
The signing ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Haven Group Corporate Headquarters, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, and was witnessed by officials of both Babcock University and the Haven Group.
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of Haven Group, Dr. Akinyele Olajide, thanked God for the opportunity to formalize the partnership. “We are formalizing what we have already been enjoying in many ways,” he said.
“This alliance is for the good of mankind. The hallmark of education is not just academics. We must take it back to the whole of society. And that is what this alliance is about.”
Dr. Olajide said the Hub will serve as a place where ideas can be practicalized to benefit people and improve society.
He described the location as strategic and convenient, with strong internet connectivity, and congratulated Babcock University, Babcock Business School, and the Haven Hub team for the strategic alliance.
In his response, President/Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, described the partnership as a watershed moment and a potential game-changer for professional training.
“This strategic partnership with Haven Hub as a training center for Babcock Business School brings together the academic strength of Babcock and the practical needs of industry,” he said.
Professor Ojewole noted that the Hub’s location, beside the center of governance for Lagos State and Nigeria’s commercial hub, and its panoramic view of the city, will inspire students.
“It gives students a sense that the world is limitless and that they can go for it,” he said.
“The site is wired to communicate with the world. For us at Babcock, this is one of those opportunities that come when we recognize partners in business. With collaborations like this, there is no limit to where Babcock University and Babcock Business School can reach, or to the influence and impact we can make globally.”
He thanked the leadership and management of Haven Hub for making the dream a reality, adding: “This is God’s plan. And the world has been waiting.”
