Remo Stars Sustain Battle Against Relegation, Dim Shooting Stars 1-0, As Enugu Rangers Displace Rivers Utd At Top In NPFL




Champions, Remo Stars of Ikenne-Remo have continued to sustain their battle against relegation after edging past visiting Shooting Stars of Ibadan 1-0 in a week 33 match South West derby played on Sunday, just as Enugu Rangers with 55 points displaced Rivers United of Port -Harcourt with same points at the top position of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)

The Ogun State based Skye-Blue Stars currently placed 17th position with 40 points, have recorded four consecutive wins under Coach Usman Abdallah who has been on a rescue mission since he took over on February 26,2026 

Shooting Stars with the loss are occupying fifth position with 50 points 

Enugu Rangers currently topping the table with 55 points were held to a goalless draw by the visitors , Barau from Kano who are in the middle of the table position with 10th position with 43 points 

The Coach Finidi George tutored Rivers United dropped to the second position with the same 55 points after losing to the home side, Warri Wolves who won 2-0 in the week 33 encounter played on Sunday, to move to the ninth position with 43 points 

Nasarawa United of Lafia are in the fourth position with 50 points after a disappointing one-nill loss to the bottom placed Kun Khalifat with 36 points 

Sixth placed Abia Warriors of Umuahia with 49 points will be attempting to displace both Nasarawa United and Shooting Stars in fourth and fifth positions respectively , if they beat visiting Bayelsa United of Yenegoa occupying 16th position with 40 points in a week 33 match holding this Monday 

Similarly Ikorodu city with 52 points will be trying to consolidate on their third position and compete favourably with Rangers and Rivers United for the league title, if they are able to secure vital points away from home against Plateau United of Jos in another week 33 encounter holding this Monday 

The Jos based side with 43 are also seriously in need of the maximum three points to consolidate on their 11th position 

Katsina United are now occupying eight position with 46 points after a lone-goal win against visiting Niger Tornadoes of Minna currently placed 13th with 42 points 

El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri dropped to the 12th position with 43 points after a scandalous loss to the home side, Kwara United who won 3-0 

The Afonja Warriors are still struggling in the relegation water in 18th position with 39 points, ahead of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in the 19th position with 37 points after a playing a two -all draw with visiting Enyimba International of Aba occupying 15th position with 40 points
