At a time when impactful governance deserves not just recognition but encouragement, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Ogun State Chapter, has commended the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, for the ongoing transformation of road infrastructure across the state.
Following an inspection visit to the Abeokuta–Sagamu Express Road project site on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the organisation expressed deep satisfaction with the scale, quality, and standard of materials being deployed.
The visit revealed what MURIC described as “ *a significant stride toward sustainable development and safer transportation.”*
*In a statement issued by the State Chairman, Ustaadh Tajudeen Jimoh Alao and made public by the State Secretary, Ambassador Olaleye Rasheed Damilare,*
MURIC said:
*When leaders demonstrate commitment to the welfare of the people through tangible projects, it is both moral and necessary to commend them. Such recognition strengthens their resolve to do more.*
MURIC reiterated that one of the foremost responsibilities of any government is the protection of lives and property, an obligation closely tied to the provision of safe and reliable road networks.
It is in this regard that the organisation praised Governor Abiodun’s ongoing efforts, particularly the impressive work observed on the *Abeokuta–Sagamu Expressway.*
However, while celebrating these achievements, we appeal to the Governor to extend similar attention to other critical road networks within the state, especially in Abeokuta and its environs.
*Among the roads that need urgent attention are:*
*Adatan to Moore Junction Road, Oke Ibukun Road Aladasanmi Axis serving Asero and Obantoko communities*
We express concern over the prolonged deterioration of these roads, noting that the Adatan–Moore Junction corridor has remained in a one-way state for over six years, leading to frequent accidents and tragic loss of lives.
This road has become a silent danger zone, sending many to early graves. We humbly urge His Excellency to deploy engineers to this site as a matter of urgency.
It is important we point out the economic toll of neglected infrastructure, revealing that several businesses along these corridors have suffered decline or total collapse due to poor accessibility.
While acknowledging recent interventions such as the rehabilitation of the Lantoro–Yidi Road, which has eased traffic across major routes like Abiola Way, Ijaye, and Ake
Completing adjoining roads like Adatan–Moore Junction is essential to sustaining these gains.
Just as Ijebu and Iperu communities continue to appreciate your legacy projects, we in Abeokuta equally look forward to enduring impacts that will remain etched in the hearts of our people.
In conclusion, MURIC Ogun State reaffirms its commendation of Governor Dapo Abiodun for the visible progress on the Abeokuta–Sagamu Express Road, urging continued dedication to infrastructure development across all regions of the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun deserves commendation for the remarkable work currently ongoing.* We remain confident that his listening leadership will address other pressing road challenges in due course.
Signed
Ustadh Tajudeen Jimoh Alao, AAN, AMC,
Chairman, MURIC Ogun State Chapter
Ambassador Olaleye Rasheed Damilare
Secretary, MURIC, Ogun State Chapter.
