FG Unveils Plan To Adopt Ogun Govt's Technological Innovation Model In Education Sector

Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed its readiness to replicate the technological innovations of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led Administration in the education sector of the State

The  technological innovations are being embraced to maintain accurate data accessibility by teachers in order to cater for learners in the primary and Secondary School levels as well as Tertiary institutions across the country

Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, revealed this during the March edition of the Monthly Peering Webinar meeting of the Committee of States' Commissioners of Education in Nigeria (COSCEN), saying the Federal Ministry of Education would visit Ogun State to understudy the in-depth of the digitalisation system, its challenges and all that would be required to operate it.

Represented by the National Coordinator, Nigerian Education Data Infrastructure (NEDI), Dr. Abubakar Isah, the Minister said the development would help in policy formation in order to take the right decision, hinted that the Ministry came up with NEDI initiative to provide lasting solutions to data issues in schools, noting that without data it would be impossible to take any meaningful decisions, hence, the need for all Commissioners across the 36 States of the country to key into the initiative so as to ensure that every learner received a track able identity, captured in the Ministry's database.

"We are always proud of Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu and Ogun State. For us what you have done has become a model of what we aspire for the entire education sector of the federation," the Minister submitted.

Responding, Ogun State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, commended the Federal government for taking such bold step to reposition the sector, assuring of his maximum support in order to ensure that the education sector in the country was given a facelift and taken to a higher pedestal.
