Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka in Anambra State has elected new Deputy Vice-Chancellors for Academic and Administration.
Prof. Alex Chinwuba Asigbo of the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies was elected as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), while Prof. Hilda Osisioma of the Department of Business Administration was elected Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
The elections according to an official statement, were conducted during the 242nd meeting of the University Senate held on Wednesday, 25th February, 2026 at the Zephaniah Madubuko Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie presided over the meeting
Prior to her election, Prof. Osisioma had served as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Coordinating) for a period of three months, during which she provided administrative leadership and stability.
Prof. Asigbo is currently the Director of UNIZIK Commercial Ventures and a former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, bringing with him a wealth of academic and administrative experience to his new role.
Their emergence is expected to further strengthen the academic and administrative structure of the University in line with its commitment to discipline, self-reliance, and excellence.
