Ramadan 1447 AH: The Muslim Congress Congratulates Muslims, Urges Them To Maximize Benefits Of Holy Month

The The Muslim Congress (TMC) in Ogun State has congratulated Muslims on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, which began on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, corresponding to 1st Ramadan 1447 AH.

The Waali of TMC in Ogun State, Dr. Jamiu Folarin in a statement, called on Muslims in Nigeria and across the world to maximize the immense spiritual and moral benefits of the holy month for the transformation of individuals, families, and society at large.

Dr. Folarin urged Muslims to allow the lessons of Ramadan to positively reflect in their daily lives, particularly in their relationships with family members, neighbours, and adherents of other faiths.

“Muslims should use the opportunity of the 29 or 30 days of Ramadan to demonstrate the beauty of Islam and its enduring capacity to provide solutions to the numerous challenges confronting humanity,” the statement said.

He further admonished Muslims to abide by the commandments of Allah as contained in the Qur’an and as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad.

“We appeal to Muslims to approach this year’s Ramadan with renewed commitment and seriousness, not as a routine spiritual exercise, but as a transformative experience whose impact will be meaningful, reassuring, and sustainable,” the statement added.

The organisation also enjoined Muslims to use the period of Ramadan to pray for the continued peace, progress, and development of Ogun State and Nigeria, especially in view of the socio-economic and political challenges facing the nation.

“The Muslim community should also pray for the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary to discharge their responsibilities with justice, fairness, and sincerity for the overall benefit of the people,” the statement noted.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, TMC urged Muslims to pray for peaceful, credible, and successful elections, as well as the emergence of God-fearing, competent, and visionary leaders who will move Ogun State and Nigeria to greater heights.

The statement concluded with prayers for Allah’s acceptance of the fast, supplications, and acts of worship of all Muslims during the blessed month.5
