SSASCGOC Appoints Labour Relations Expert, Okudero As Acting General Secretary

The Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC) has appointed Veteran Labour Relations expert, Comrade Akin Okudero as the acting General Secretary for the Association. 

In a letter conveying the appointment, President General SSASCGOC, Comrade Kayode Surajudeen Alakija announced the appointment in a letter, said the choice of Okudero was strictly based on track record of good performance 

" The Central Working Committee (CWC) of our Association, the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC) considered your performance and adjudged you successful", he stated 

The Association has the mandate and jurisdictional scope to unionise all Federal and State-owned companies, parastatals, boards, agencies of government and statutory corporations, in the appointment letter 

SSASCGOC. in the letter of appointment, expressed confidence that the association would benefit greatly from the experience of Okudero 

"The Association will continue to benefit from your vast knowledge in unionism to justify the confidence reposed in you"

Akin Okudero, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is a two-term Chairman, Ogun State chapter and governing council member of the NIPR. 

He is a recipient of the NIPR Diamond Anniversary Award for Excellence in Professional Service  and has been noted for his passion in expanding the frontiers of Public Relations education, research and practice in Nigeria. 

Okudero has a deep track record in trade unionism spaning over twenty five years.

Records have it that he was at one time, the Chairman  SSASCGOC Ogun NIPOST/NITEL chapter, Editor Newslink Magazine NIPOST Branch, PRO and later Deputy President NIPOST Branch of SSASCGOC. 

On retirement from active service, he was appointed Assistant General Secretary, pioneering Organising Department of SSASCGOC for a two-term tenure which ended in 2019

His contribution to the increased membership of State Corporations was well noted. 

His appointment as the Acting General Secretary for the giant organisation and one of the few 1978 restructured trade union-birthed Association is worthy and sign of growth and development in SSASCGOC.
