Ogun Govt To Inject Fresh 1,000 OgunTEACH Interns into Public Schools As TESCOM Begins Screening Of Candidates

Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has commenced the screening of candidates who scored 40 and above in 2025 Ogun TEACh test, as part of efforts to strengthen the State’s Secondary School teaching workforce.

Chairman of TESCOM, Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu during the screening exercise at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta on Monday, disclosed that 1,000 successful applicants would be deployed to secondary schools across the State as teaching interns

He explained that the internship would last for 2 years, after which outstanding ones would be offered permanent appointments.

Sanyaolu, who emphasised that the process was anchored on merit and transparency, strict verification of academic credentials, noted that subject relevance would be prioritised to ensure the State’s Schools have teachers in key areas of need.

“The administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun is committed to raising the standard of education in Ogun State. This is why TESCOM is following due process in the engagement of interns, in line with the State government’s vision for the education sector,” he said.

The TESCOM boss further highlighted the link between teacher’s quality and learner’s performance, charging successful interns to be diligent and efficient in their duty posts.

Two of the candidates, Miss. Rofiat Fadipe and Mr. Oluwatobi Onaniyi, expressed appreciation to the State government for creating employment opportunities and addressing youth unemployment through the initiative, describing the scheme as laudable and a call to service.
