Ogun Govt Seeks Partnership With Professional Tourism Bodies To Further Boost Sector


 

 




Ogun State Government has expressed its willingness to partner with professional tourism bodies to consolidate on the significant growth recorded in the tourism sector.


The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi expressed the readiness  during his decoration as a Fellow Member of the Institute of Tourism Professionals of Nigeria, (ITPN), Ogun State Chapter by Executives of the Institute at the Conference Room of the Ministry, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. 


Hon. Fagbayi said the Ministry was committed to ensuring further dialogue and joint efforts in advancing the State's tourism sector, signaling a promising path for future cooperation between government agencies and professional tourism organisations.


 He encouraged them to adopt a mutual approach in their dealings, not just asking for what government plans were but to engage government on how Professional Institutes could contribute and make impact to tourism development and promotions.


The Commissioner appreciated the ITPN for honoring him as a fellow of the Institute, pledging to support and contribute his quota towards the development of the Institute. 

President of (ITPN), Ogun State Chapter, Dr. Abolade Kelani emphasised the role of the Institute in supporting tourism professionals and disclosed that their ongoing collaboration with the National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality would bring about the desired development.


Kelani highlighted the need for a comprehensive capacity building for tourism officers across the State with a focus on professional development and institutional synergy, suggesting that grading and classification of tourism establishments would help develop the sector.
