UNIZIK Appoints Prof.Carol Arinze-Umobi As Acting Vice-Chancellor

Governing Council of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State has appointed Professor Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi as Acting Vice-Chancellor following the end of tenure of Professor Joseph  Ikechebelu 

Acting Head, Information, Public Relations/Protocol of the university, Njelita Louis who  made this known in a statement, says Professor Carol C. Arinze-Umobi will resume on Monday, 19th May, 2025.

Prof.Professor Carol C. Arinze-Umobi will serve in acting capacity for a maximum period of six months until a Substantive Vice-Chancellor is appointed as stated in the appointment letter signed  by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Barrister Olugbenga M. Kukoyi,

The letter reads “By virtue of Section 5(13) of the Act, your term of appointment shall not exceed a maximum period of six (6) months, or until a substantive Vice-Chancellor is appointed, whichever comes first”.
