Authorities of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State have approved the rustication of 19 students, including six in their final year over involvement in various offences ranging from misconduct, theft, examination malpractice, hostel bed-space racketeering and extortion, beating a fellow student, admission racketeering, extortion, and assault
Director of Corporate Affairs of the university, Kunle Akogun who made this known in a statement, said that the decision was part of the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee at its 220th/221st meeting presided over
by the vice-chancellor, Wahab Egbewole (SAN)
The affected students according to the statement, will be serving different penalties for the offences committed by them, including rustication for either one semester or one academic session, or complete expulsion.
The affected students cut across various academic levels such as 100, 200, 300, and 400.
