Ogun Truck Owners, Drivers Decry Alleged Illegal Ticketing..Seek Gov Abiodun's Urgent Intervention




Owners and drivers of trucks operating in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital and its environ have decried what they described as illegal ticket allegedly introduced by the Ogun State Unified Trucks & Owners, Drivers Association (OGSUTTODA) under the headship of one ,Biodun Ajayi

Leaders of various associations making up the unified association including Truck Owners Association of Nigeria, First Nigeria Tipper & Lorry Drivers Association, New Era Owners Association of Nigeria and Trailer Drivers Association of Nigeria at a press conference on Thursday vowed that their members would resist payment of such illegal ticket, calling for urgent intervention of Governor Dapo  Abiodun to prevent possible breakdown of law and order over the ugly situation 








A top leader of truck owners , Alhaji Isiaka Ajetumobi, President of Trailer Drivers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Quadri Alabede, Alhaji Kabiru also pleaded with the governor and the State Commissioner for Transportation, Engr.Gbenga Dairo to call to order, Biodun Ajayi whom they accused of hijacking the normal ticket usually issued by members of OGSUTTODA for truck drivers and replacing it with illegal ticket


They called on the State Government to prevail on Ajayi to desist from issuance of such illegal ticket to truck drivers and allow only genuine members of OGSUTTODA to continue to issue the normal ticket which is meant for welfare of drivers and truck owners as well as development and maintenance of various trailers parks within the Egba Zone comprising of Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Ewekoro,Odeda, Obafemi-Owode and Ifo Local Government Areas of the State

The truck owners in their separate speeches condemned the conduct of Ajayi for using non-members of OGSUTTODA to issue ticket strictly reserved for members, vowing to mobilize members to resist payment for such illegal ticket to truck drivers




They also threatened to stop collection and payment of various levies to the State Internal Revenue Service, Ministry of Transportation and that of Trades, Investment and Industry, if government fails to act urgently and stop the alleged illegal ticket in the name of OGSUTTODA

Leaders and members of the association however pledged their loyalty to the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration whom they supported during the 2023 general election as card carrying members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state
