The seasoned broadcaster and university don, Dr. Adekunle Alaye has finally bowed out of Chrisland University in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, after a meritorious service of nine years.
Dr Alaye who joined the service of the university as one of the pioneer staff on his arrival from Brandenburg University, Germany in August, 2015, till date remains the longest academic staff in the history of the fast growing private university in Nigeria
He served as the pioneer Acting Head of Department, Political Science and General Studies, during the same period in the university
He had also served in various academic and administrative capacities of the university including the pioneer Chairman Examination Committee of the defunct college of management sciences now College Arts, Management and Social Sciences (CAMASS), pioneer Student Staff Adviser, pioneer Chairman Dress Code Committee and pioneer Chairman of Rapporteur Committee amongst others
The seasoned broadcaster recalled his experiences as the first set of lecturers in the university with zero student and two colleges.
He was quick to commend the effort of the incumbent Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, whose leadership and administrative style had since transformed the university to what it is today, in terms of physical infrastructure ,number of colleges and students population
"Chrisland University being a very fast growing university under leadership of the ever promising and assiduous Vice Chancellor, Professor Chinendum Peace Babalola, the university is today hitting the population of three thousand students in no time. With five colleges, including the college of Law and Nursing", he lauded
Dr Alaye bowed out of the service of the Institution , he served meritoriously for nine years, wishing his colleagues and students a good bye, as he moved on to another phase in life.
He was full of praises for quite a number of his colleagues and students, especially, Madam, Vice Chancellor, Professor Babalola, Head of Department of Political Science and renowned African Scholar, Professor Badejo, Professor Femi Onabajo, his dean , Professor Olly whom he had brief interaction with
He also appreciated other colleagues including Dr Alabi, Dr Bello, his birthday mate, Dr Lydia Chinenyemba, the Registrar, Mr Omotosho, Mr Aladesuru, Barrister Adetoye, Mr Muyiwa whom he fondly addressed as 'My Egbon', Akogun of Yewa Land, Dr Olawunmi, Dr. Olayiwola, Miss Dolapo, PRO, CSO, Bursar, Mr Moses, Miss Abimbola, Miss Grace and Miss Balogun
Others are Mr Christian, Mr Osuala, Mrs. Aluko, CAMASS FO, Mrs Ilugbo Dr Odeigah, Dr Adeniran, Mr Ogunmefun, Victoria Komolafe, Dr Francis amongst others
