An Engineering student of the Lagos State University, Babajide Praise has finished among the top two in the recently concluded grand-finale of Professor Ogundipe Innovative Challenge 2.0, the academic feat which further sustained the world-class status of the university
The 500-level student of Electronic and Computer Engineering Department in
the Faculty of Engineering, Epe campus maintained the tradition of academic excellence at the grand finale held at the campus of the University of Lagos, Akoka, on Thursday, 8th February 2024.
The Professor Ogundipe Innovative Challenge (POIC) 2.0 which attracted technology and innovation enthusiasts at undergraduate levels in Universities, was designed to test capacity of engineering students for innovation.
With over 199 participating teams made up of 947 undergraduates from different universities in Nigeria, Team Horizon (Praise Babajide) representing the Lagos State University, came second best and got a reward of Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N750,000) in the process.
He also got personalized training with Ọpọlọ Global, an innovation enabler, incubator, and accelerator with a focus on nurturing talents to become global innovators.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, received news of Babajide's success with excitement and congratulated him on the feat.
