Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philips Shaibu has charged radio broadcasters to use their content , production and presentation on radio, to drive a positive change within their society.
Comrade Shaibu who spoke at an event organized in Abeokuta, Ogun state by the Freelance and independent broadcasters association of Nigeria (FIBAN) to mark the 2024 world radio day, described radio as a wonderful tool of communication.
Represented by his chief press secretary, Ebhomiana Musa, the Deputy Governor urged broadcasters to defend the truth at all time and live above board while discharging their duties.
Some eminent Nigerians were on the occasion decorated with awards for their services to humanity.
They include the wife of the Ogun state Governor, Bamidele Abiodun, former Nigeria's high commissioner to the UK Sharafa Tunji Ishola, senator Adeola Olamilekan(YAYI), DiG Babatunde Kokumo,Rtd.
The paramount ruler of Remo land HRH Babatunde Ajayi and the Apena of Egbaland high chief SOA bankole also graced the occasion.
