Egba High Chiefs Ask Alake ,Osile To Call Oba MacGregor To Order Over Alleged Closure Of Ile-Ogboni In Ilawo

High Chiefs in Ilawo community within Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State have pleaded with paramount ruler of Egbaland , Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo and that of Oke-Ona Egbaland, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso to call Olu of Orile-Ilawo, Oba Alexander Olusegun MacGregor to order over alleged closure of Ile-Ogboni In the town, before the situation degenerate to a full blown crisis in the community

Oluwo of Ilawo, Oluwole Dosunmu, as well as Balogun, Abraham Adebayo Soyoye and Akogun , Olufemi Ogunsanya who made plea on Sunday in their separate interviews with newsmen in Abeokuta , accused Oba MacGregor of supporting suspended members of Ogboni who came with some suspected thugs to attack the Ile-Ogboni during afternoon hours on Saturday when members of Ogboni were having their regular meeting

The Oluwo of Ilawo described the action as abomination saying never in the history of the ancient community within the domain of Osile of Oke-Ona Egbaland that a traditional ruler would allegedly support such closure of Ile-Ogboni whose members are vested with traditional role of running the affairs of the town

High Chief Dosunmu explained that members of Ogboni always play prominent traditional role in the emergence of any traditional ruler, stressing that such power to shutdown Ile-Ogboni solely lies with him as Oluwo of Ilawo, if there is crisis among members and not a traditional ruler usurping such role and power

Also speaking in the same vein, the Balogun of Ilawo who doubles as the Bashorun of Oke-Ona Egbaland, Abraham Soyoye  narrated his ordeal on how the suspended members of Ogboni alongside suspected thugs called him severally unprintable  names just to frustrate members of Ogboni at the meeting to make them react accordingly which might  degenerate to scuffle but they (suspended members) failed in their attempts to cause crisis among members

The Akogun of Egbaland who said the matter had been reported to both the Alake and Osile for their urgent intervention as prescribed authorities over the Ilawo community, insisted that no traditional ruler has such traditional power as provided by the law to carry out such power, except the Oluwo who exercises his power when there is crisis or division among members of Ogboni

He cautioned the monarch to restrain himself to Orile-Ilawo and not the entire community of Ilawo

Similarly, the Akogun of Ilawo, Olufemi Ogunsanya accused Olu of Orile-Ilawo of causing crisis in the community by backing  the suspended members of Ogboni in the attack on Ile-Ogboni by suspended thugs , saying no traditional ruler has such power to shutdown Ile-Ogboni except the Oluwo

He also called on both Alake and Osile who have prescribed authorities over Oba MacGregor to stop the monarch from exercising such power that does not belong to him and allow peace to reign in Ilawo community by  facing  his role as the traditional ruler in Orile-Ilawo
