Ogun Organized Labour Lauds Abiodun On Payment Of Yuletide Bonuses, Other Incentives ...Calls For Extension To Pensioners

Organized labour in Ogun State has lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for the recent payment of Christmas bonuses in addition to  other allowances to workers on payroll of the State Government, to cushion the effect of hardship being experienced by the workforce as a result of removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government 

The leadership of labour in a joint Appreciation Letter to the governor obtained by Edu-Biznews on Tuesday in Abeokuta, described the payment of Christmas bonuses to all categories of workers ranging from N20,000 to N100,000 ,as unprecedented which none of the workers expected during the present harsh economy in the country 

The labour leaders calling for extension of the gesture to pensioners, also said payment of bonuses and transport allowances had further demonstrated priority given to welfare of workers by the Abiodun's administration 

"Truth be told, no one anticipated the naira rain that hit individual employees bank accounts few days to Christmas. It needs no further emphasis that the State Government has indeed prioritised workers overall welfare and wellbeing, especially in this challenging times of our nation"

"No gain saying in the fact that, since the removal of fuel subsidy, Your Excellency has doubled the life-improving gestures with approval and payment of peculiar allowance. Ditto for special allowances to various professions in the employment of the State Government", the labour stated 

The labour leaders in the letter showered encomium on Governor Abiodun for improving on welfare of workers since commencement of his administration in the state in 2019 till date 

"For us in the Organised Labour, we are more than convinced that there have been significant improvements in the overall well-being of the State and Local Governments employees courtesy of Your Excellency's God-sent kindness.  All credits to Your Excellency having proven to the State workforce that we have a compassionate leader whose genuine interest focuses on our welfare"

"For, and on behalf of the entire Civil/Public employees of  our dear State, we respectfully present our sincere appreciation of Your Excellency's genuine kindness and love for the State workers. May the best of wishes of the Yuletide season be with Your Excellency and your family.  Also, we intercede that the glorious days of your administration for the betterment of our dear State will arrive soonest. Once again, we honestly appreciate Your Excellency", the labour concluded in the letter
