No One Without Teaching Certificate Will Be Employed As Teachers In Ogun- Says Education Commissioner




Ogun State Government has vowed not to employ anyone without teaching certificate as teacher in both public primary and secondary schools in the state

The State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof.Abayomi Arigbabu who made this known on Tuesday during a meeting with management staff of ministry at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, also assured that officers would be exposed to ICT training so as to make them relevant in their various departments to drive the education system in the state 

He  tasked them at the meeting to prioritise the welfare of their staff with determination and commitment for effective service delivery

The State Commissioner during a special prayers session for the New Year for management and staff of the ministry, equally  charged them  to always be diligent, in order to be more productive and successful than the past years.

Arigbabu, appreciated the Permanent Secretary, Directors, Deputy Directors, Zonal Education Officers and other Officers for their contributions and support to surmount various challenges in year 2023.

He described the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye as ‘’hardworking, forward-looking, supportive and loving, whose contributions has helped in repositioning the education system in the state’’.

He enjoined officers to be more transparent, dedicated and conversant with the Civil Service rules, pointing out that they were crucial in the realisation of government policies for the development of the education sector.

 "I look forward to a year of progress. I want you to do your work faithfully without fear or favour; re-dedicate yourself and always give a good account of the Ministry. It must also be noted that this is a strategic Ministry that touches every home, so things must be done properly", Arigbabu urged them 

Earlier, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye, urged Education Officers to obey instructions, adhere to stipulated rules and regulations, make good use of opportunities, not to be greedy and to depend on God at all times, applauding them for being resilient in their duties.

In their new year messages, the Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mr. Olusegun Opanuga and Imam Jamiu Seidu in their Christian and Muslim admonition, preached love, unity, dedication to work, patience, being upright and God fearing, praying for divine uplifting for officers in the new year.
