Ogun Govt To Provide Intervention Programme For Farm Settlers




Ogun  State Government has reassured farm settlers of its renewed commitment towards the development of agricultural sector through intervention programmes.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Samuel Adeogun, gave the assurance when he received Farm Settlers Association of Ogun State, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Adeogun emphasised that intervention, in terms of impactful policies, plays a crucial role in strengthening relationship between farm settlers and government, adding that the present administration was ready to support programmes designed to assist farm settlers, such as financial aid, access to agricultural resources among others, to overcome some of the challenges and encourage them to expand their operations.

He noted that the intervention would improve the settlers’ livelihood and contribute to the development of the sector, enjoining them to work in synergy with the Ministry and ensure they pay their dues.

Speaking on behalf of the association, the Public Relation Officer, Mr. Rotimi Sogunle, appreciated government for its efforts towards enhancing the agricultural sector, promising the association’s cooperation, commitment and loyalty to the present administration, while looking forward to an enduring relationship.
