Oyo State Government has concluded arrangements to launch a software designed for pensioners in the state.
The Executive Chairman, Oyo state Pensions Board, Hon. Tunji Adekunle who made this known, explained that the software would enable pensioners have easy access to confirm their living status from the comfort of their homes using either a smartphone or a computer system.
He gave the assurance during a meeting with Pensioners at the Pensioners' House, Onireke Ibadan, saying that the Oyo State Government will continue to prioritize the welfare of the senior citizens in the State.
Adekunle added that the software would relieve them the field verification they had been carrying out all year, thereby, reducing stress of travelling long distances.
He explained that the Governor Seyi Makinde was one of the governors that began the payment of wages award for Civil Servants and Pensioners in the state.
He said that the government would not relent in its pursuit to improve life for its retirees adding that it placed premium on the welfare and wellbeing of its pensioners.
The Executive Chairman hinted that the Pensions' Board had put in place lots of programmes that will benefit the senior citizens in the State.
He called on the Pensioners to be weary of fraudsters and desist from engaging unfamiliar faces to do their paperwork for them.
The Chairman therefore sought for continuous support of Pensioners to the Governor Seyi Makinde - led administration in the state.
Earlier, the Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Oyo State, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, praised the Governor Makinde government for prioritizing the welfare of Pensioners in the state
He said the Pensioners supported Makinde's second term ambition and will continue to be with his government as long he continues to priotize their welfare.
The meeting had in attendance the permanent Secretary, Oyo state Pensioners Board, Mrs Modupe Adeleye, Directors from the Board and Executive members of the Union
