Ogun Assembly Begins Process For Financial Autonomy... Kicks Against Demolition Of School

Ogun State House of Assembly has constituted the Assembly's Fund Management Committee, preparatory to the take-off of its long awaited financial autonomy inline with provision of the constitution as amended 

Speaker of the house, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo who announced the composition of the Committee during the resumed plenary of the lawmakers on Tuesday inside the house's hallow chamber, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, listed himself as Chairman, Deputy Speaker, Hon(Mrs) Bolanle Ajayi  as  Vice Chairman

He announced other members to include Majority Leader, Hon. Yusuf Sheriff representatives of each of the  Senatorial Districts, including Hon. Damilola Soneye (Ogun Central), Lamidi Musefiu (Ogun West), Lukman Adeleye (Ogun East), the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service and the Director of Finance and Accounts in the Assembly.

Meanwhile Speaker of the house has kicked against the alleged demolition of Elefon Primary School, Elefon in Ewekoro Local Government Area by Dangote Cement PLC under the guise of discovering mineral resources within the compound of the school. 

The Speaker issued the condemnation, while responding to the  presentation of a member representing Ewekoro State Constituency, Hon. Yusuf Amosun, who informed the Assembly under personal explanation on the alleged illegal demolition of the primary school without notice to the appropriate government agencies.

Therefore, Speaker Oluomo constituted an ad-hoc Committee to be chaired by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bolanle Ajayi, with Honourables Seun Adesanya, Lukmon Atobatele and Sunday Wasiu, as members of the committee to engage all concerned parties on the matter and report back the Assembly.
