The leadership of both of Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have announced the suspension of the ongoing nationwide strike, following the intervention of the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu
Joint National Executive Council, NEC of both unions took the decision to suspend the strike on Wednesday during their meeting in Abuja
The organized labour had declared the indefinite strike on Mid-night of last Tuesday, following the expiration of the two weeks ultimatum given to the Federal Government to arrest and punish those behind the brutal attack on the National President of NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero during the workers protest in Owerri, the Imo State capital
The labour also demanding for implementation of other pending labour issues
But the industrial action was suspended after the intervention of the Federal Government through the Office of the National Security Adviser, NSA. Malam Nuhu Ribadu
Workers across the country are expected to report to their various duty post this Thursday, 16th of November, 2023
