Igbore High School Boys Humiliate Adeoye Memorial High School 19-1 To Win Ogun Handball Tourney As Yewa College Side Clinch Girls' Title



Igbore High School, Abeokuta male side on Friday humiliated their opponents, Adeoye Lambo Memorial High School, Obada 19-1, to emerge as champions of the 4th edition of the annual Adetunji Jibowu Memorial Handball Championship for secondary schools in Ogun State

Also the famous Yewa College, Ilaro clinched girls' title, after defeating the hard-fighting female side of Igbore High School who lost via penalties 7-9 

The Igbore High School male team   completely dominated Adeoye Lambo Memorial High School from start to finish in an one sided final played at the Alake Sports Complex in Ijeja Abeokuta, the State capital 






The Igbore boys proved too hot for Adeoye Lambo Memorial High team, scoring 10 goals against one goal before the half time

On resumption of the remaining half of the encounter , Igbore boys scored nine  additional goals , to end the final score at 19-1 



The female side of Igbore High School had earlier fell to Yewa College after both sides had ended the score line at six-all after regulation time




The highly determined Yewa College  girls ensured they eventually clinched the cu after the Igbore High School side scored in the last minute through Zainab Bamgboye  to extend the game to penalties 

The Yewa College converted three of the throws while only was converted by the Igbore girls team 

Prizes were given to schools who finished in the top three positions in both male and female contest




Shimawa High School, Sagamu male team finished in the third position while Adeoye Lambo Memorial High School girls won the third place match encounter


Technical Director of the Ogun State Handball Association, Coach Aihonsu Abel assured that talented players discovered at the tournament would be invited to the state team where they will be groomed and nutured to stardom to represent the State at major national and international competitions
