Attack On Ajaero: Ogun NLC Asks President Tinubu To Probe Incident...Declare State Of Emergency On Security In Imo




Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has asked President Bola Almed Tinubu to immediately put up what it described as an Independent and Scientific investigation panel to probe the recent violent and brutalization of its National President, Comrade Joe Ajaero in Imo State, allegedly sponsored by Governor Hope Uzodinma, ahead of the 1st of November,2023 planned mega protest against unfriendly treatment of workers in the state 

The Ogun State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola who made the call in a statement made available to Edu-Biznews on Sunday, also demanded for recall of the Imo State Police Commissioner and declaration of state of emergency on security in Imo state, considering the level of insecurity in the state

The leadership of the union condemning the attack on Ajaero in the statement, urged the Independent investigation panel when constituted, to quickly bring the perpetrators behind the attack to book, so as to serve as deterrent to others

"The leadership of NLC Ogun State greatly condemned the criminal abduction and brutality of National President of NLC, Joe Ajaero who was brutally maimed, beaten and dispossessed of his personal belongings during the proposed 1st of November, 2023 Mega protest/Rally against inhuman, selfish, unfriendly and illegitimate action of Hope Uzodinma, the Governor of Imo state", the union alleged

"The Congress leadership is sympathizing with our President and wishing him quick and miraculous recovery from dilemma to a a good state of health", the statement concluded
