Ogun State Government has awarded the Overall Winner of the 24th Edition of the Junior Engineers Technicians and Science (JETS) Competitions, Master Gbolahan Azeem with N2.5million worth of Scholarship, to encourage him further pursue his academic career in a higher institution of learning of his choice
Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu who presented
the cheque to him in Abeokuta, on behalf of the State Government, explained that the scholarship would cater for his 4-year period in the University up to the Ph.D. level.
Arigbabu revealed that Master Azeem, apart from being the winner of the 24th Edition of the competition, also won the 2nd Position in the 774 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Competition and also came 4th in the just concluded Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination, hence the need for the honour.
He said the gesture was as a result of the present administration’s commitment to rewarding excellence, enjoining other learners to keep the flag flying by putting in more effort to continually inscribe the name of the State on the marble of greatness among other States of the Federation.
Speaking, the beneficiary of the scholarship, Master Gbolahan Azeem commended the giant strides of Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration to enhance the education sector, especially in public schools.
