Speaker of the house, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo who made this known during plenary On Thursday , listed the nominees to include TPL Olatunji Odunlami, Wasiu Isiaka and Funmi Efuwape, who are to appear before the State lawmakers on Monday, 9th, October, 2023 with thirty copies of their curriculum vitae expected to have been submitted latest by 10am on the same time
In another development, the Assembly has passed a resolution directing the State Government to lift the ban earlier imposed on all the union activities of the State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in the State.
The passage of the resolution followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Yusuf Sheriff, seconded by the Minority Leader, Adeleye Lukman, and supported by the Whole House through a aunanimous voice vote.
The passage was done shortly after the presentation of the Chairman, House Committee on Transportation, Oludaisi Elemide who recounted the incidence leading to the ban by the Ninth Legislature, positing that members of the Union had since then been maintaining peace and orderliness.
In his response, Speaker Oluomo stated that the lift of the ban became imperative following the peaceful conduct of the Union members likewise their understanding of the rule of law in the promotion of peaceful atmosphere and societal orderliness.
