Allstars Football Club Abeokuta have congratulated the Ogun State newly appointed commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, urging him to set the ball rolling in order to restore the Gateway state as the sports hub of the most populated country in Africa
President of the club, Alhaji Lawal Adeoye Waheed and the Secretary, Mr. Babalola Semiu Adesina in a jointly signed congratulatory message, described the commissioner's appointment as timely and in tune with the state's preparation for the hosting of the biennial National Sports Festival tagged "Gateway Games 2024"
The 2018 Ogun State Federations' Cup winners urged the commissioner to seek for and welcome inputs and suggestions from relevant stakeholders in the sports industry that will assist him in piloting the affairs of the sector to an enviable heights.
The Club implored the commissioner to use his experience and expertise as the immediate past senior special assistant to the Governor on Ogun Internally generated revenue, to navigate ways to seek for funds to rebuild decaying sports infrastructures and support the athletes in their quest to glorious height
They expressed optimism that the sports commissioner would tap from the abundant talents in the sports sector and revive the dwindling fortunes of the sector.
