Governor Dapo Abiodun is still searching for right person to serve as his Commissioner for Information and Strategy, as the newly sworn-in cabinet members officially report to their respective ministries this Monday, 16th of October, 2023 as Commissioners and Special Advisers for second term of the present administration in Ogun State
Edu-Biznews recalled that Governor Abiodun had on Saturday assigned portfolios to the Commissioners and Special Advisers who were sworn-in last week Friday, 13th of October, 2023, but still keeping his silence on who will occupy the position of Commissioner in the most strategic and sensitive ministry, (Information and Strategy Ministry) in charge of promotion of activities and programmes of the State Government to the general publics
The Commissioners who are expected to resume to various ministries include Mr. Olusina Ogungbade (Attorney General and Justice ), Engr. Oludotun Taiwo (Forestry) , Adebola Sofela (Industry Trade and Investments), Dr.Tomi Coker(Health), Hon.(Mrs) Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan (Rural Development), Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat ( Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs), Hon(Mrs) Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo (Women Affairs) and Mr Oladapo Okubadejo who is the Chief Economic Adviser and Finance Commissioner
Others are Engr. Olugbenga Dairo (Transport), Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu (Education, Science and Technology), Town Planner, Olatunji Odunlami ( Physical Planning and Urban Development), Bolu Owootomo (Agriculture), Engr.Adebowale Akinsanya (Works and Infrastructure), Hon.Olufunmilayo Efuwape (Special Duties), Oladimeji Oresanya (Environment) and Ademola Balogun ( Community Development)
The rest reporting to the various ministries as Commissioners are Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi (Housing) , Mr.Wasiu Isiaka (Sports) as well as Mr.Olaolu Olabimtan ( Budget and Planning ) and Sesan Fagbayi who is in charge of Culture and Tourism)
The 22 Special Advisers are; Arch Biodun Fari-Arole, Hon. (Otunba) Babatunde Olaotan, Mr. Dayo Abiodun, Mr. Olusola Subair Kamar (AIG RTD), Chief Segun Fowora, Babatunde Akeem Adesina, Princess Peju Shote, Hon. Tajudeen Egunjobi, Dr. Leke Otegbeye, Ayotunde Olambiwoninu Lawal, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Oyindamola Oyelese, Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu, Mr. Seyi Ogunseye, Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye, Hon. Rasak Oluwakemi Daddah, Chief Jide Ojuko, Sola Arobieke, Dr. Reuben Olurotimi Ogungbe, Yemisi Dawodu, Ronke Soyombo and Abayomi Hunye.
Governor Abiodun had during the swearing ceremony held at the Obas' Complex ,in Oke-Mosan Abeokuta,urged the cabinet members to see their appointments as a clarion call to further render selfless service to the people, Governor Abiodun enjoined them to display a high level of cohesiveness and indivisibility and strive to relate with colleagues and subordinates with consideration and decorum.
He called on them to ensure a symbiotic relationship with the civil servants in their ministries and agencies for the betterment of the State and the general good of the people.
The governor appreciated members of the State House Assembly for carrying out diligent checks on the Commissioners and Special Advisers as well as prompt approval of the final list, assuring of his administration’s commitment to the development of the State’s economy and improving the lives of the people through conducive atmosphere for the workers.
Responding on behalf of the new Commissioners, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, appreciated the governor for counting them worthy of the appointment, pledging total loyalty and commitment to the ethical values of fairness, accountability and inclusiveness.
Engr. Akeem Adesina responding on behalf of the Special Advisers, pledged better performance, adding that they would be more focus and dedicated to their assigned duties.
Meanwhile the governor said plans had been concluded to create more ministries in the state.
The governor said the with the creation of more ministries, more appointments would be coming, even as he warned that there was no way such appointments can go round.
