Several of the filling stations in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital recorded very low patronage of customers as most of the motorists who can not afford the new pump price of between N580 and N617 per litre of Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol stayed away from roads
The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited had on Tuesday released the new price template for dispensing the product in the country from the initial N500 to N617 per litre, to reflect the market reality arising from rise in price of crude in the global market and removal of subsidy by the Federal Government
All the filling stations in Abeokuta had adjusted their pump price to reflect the new pump price but only few cars were seen in most of stations, particularly at Ake, Asero, Obatantoko, and Abiola way buying the products
Only few commercial vehicles were seen on the roads, leaving most of the passengers stranded in the evening hours of the day
