A Non-Governmental Organization, Ireede Grassroots Foundation has charged fathers to always see investment in education of their children as investment in better future of families and Nigeria as a country.
Founder of the foundation, Hon. Funmilayo Ireede-Oginni who gave the charge in a congratulatory message to fathers on this year's Father's Day, said that fathers must ensure that they make adequate provision for education of their children, so as to reduce the disturbing trend of out of school children in the country which the United Nations Educational, Sciencetific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) put at over 20million
The foundation which is commited to supporting the education of the less privileged in rural areas, stressed the need for fathers to see education of their children as one of the major responsibilities in their respective families , so as to ensure descent society and a better country
Ireede-Oginni who is also proprietress of Future Promise Group of Schools Abeokuta, however commended fathers who give priority to the education of their children, urging them to continue to be a role model for the next generation to emulate
The foundation according to her, will continue to provide scholarship for brilliant children whose parents are poor in the society
Some of the beneficiaries of the Ireede Grassroots Foundation include students writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE )for school candidates and those who sat for this year's Unified Tertiary Institutions Matriculation Examination (UTME)
