Ogun Assembly Candidate To Initiate A Bill Setting Up Scholarship Commission For Education Of Poor Children




A Labour Party (LP) Candidates, Hon. Funmilayo-Ireede Ayodele-Oginni has promised to initiate a bill for the establishment of Ogun State Scholarship Commission that will support education pursuit of brilliant children whose parents are poor , if elected as a member of the State House of Assembly from Yewa South Constituency in this Saturday, March 11, 2023 election

Ayodele-Oginni  in a  chat with "Edu-biznews 2023 Agenda Forum", over the weekend, explained that the proposed commission would ensure provision of the needed financial support for such identified children up till tertiary education level, so as to make life meaningful for them and reduce the number of out of school children in the state, particularly in the rural areas

The candidate who is a proprietress of Future Promise Group of Schools, Abeokuta, said she would always give priority to the issues affecting education and health sectors  in the state as a lawmaker

She revealed that fees for the coming  West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations WASSCE were paid for 10 children while fees of other five children were paid to enable them write this year's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) courtesy of  her personal schorship scheme to assist the poor within the community 

Ayodele-Oginni also stressed the need to provide financial support for the aged in the society, saying she will sponsor another bill for the establishment of an agency that will pay monthly stipend to the old people to keep body and soul together

According to her, children with special talents will also be supported morally and financially to excel in their chosen careers, for them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic growth of the State

She assured people of Yewa South Constituency of dividends of democracy, promising to initiate a medical outreach programme to encourage them to regularly check their health status including their  eyes and enjoy healthy lifestyle

The candidate equally promised to introduce a recruitement scheme to engage several people as cleaners, so as to ensure healthy and clean environment in Yewa South Constituency to make it attractive for Investors and people from other parts of the State to live 

For Ayodele-Oginni, the scholarship scheme and medical outreach programme would continue for the benefit of her people and the state at large irrespective of the outcome of the election

"I intend to continue with the scholarship scheme and the medical outreach programme irrespective of the outcome of the election", she stated
