Ogun TESCOM Vows To Scrutinize Zonal Secretaries Assumption Of Offices

Ogun State Teaching Service Commission has vowed to ensure proper scrutiny of prospective Zonal Secretaries before assumption of office.

The Chairman of the agency, Evang. Olalekan Ifede made this known in Abeokuta, during a computer based-test and oral interview for teachers, who applied for the position of the Zonal Secretary.  saying the move became necessary to ensure that committed and qualified staff were selected for the position.

He added that academic and non-academic staff in public secondary schools would be regularly screened to achieve the transformation agenda of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, urging school administrators to always acquaint themselves with the rudiments of their jobs and imbibe moral conduct as leaders.

“The State government has deemed it imperative to regularly screen anyone applying for higher post to ensure that the right pegs are put in the right hole and to achieve qualitative education in public secondary schools across the State”, the Chairman said.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission, Dr. Abdulwaheed Olanloye said the teachers should put into cognisance the objectives of the examination and interview, admonishing them to be confident in their zeal to assume the leadership position.

In their respective speeches, the Commissioner 1 and 2 in the Commission, Hon. Olarenwanu Majekodunmi and Ademola Adeleye respectively, informed that the exercise was conducted to evaluate their capacities and mental horizon, saying favouritism would not be encouraged in the selection of Zonal Secretaries.

Two of the applicants, Mrs. Remilekun Saka and Alhaja Olubowale Awere commended the State government for its benevolence towards teachers’ welfare and for entrenching the examination process to determine the throne of leadership.
