Abiodun To Present 2023 Budget Proposal To Ogun Assembly, As Three Bills Scale First Reading

Governor Dapo Abiodun will on this 

Thursday, 17th of November, 2022 present the 2023 budget proposal to the Ogun State House of Assembly for consideration and approval  

Speaker of the house, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo announced the date for the budget presentation in a letter sent by the governor and read to the lawmakers during their plenary on Tuesday at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The letter reads in parts: "I thank Mr. Speaker and the Honourable Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly for the co-operation we have continued to enjoy from the hallowed Chamber. Your legislative support has indeed been pivotal to the success story of our Building the State together.

"In accordance with the provision of Section, 121 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I write to inform the Honourable House that I intend to present the Ogun State Year 2023 Budget proposal to the State House of Assembly on Thursday, 17th November, 2022 at 10.00am"

Meanwhile  three bills including those seeking the establishment of Ogun State Rural Access Road Agency,  Ogun State Road Fund (SRF) and Ogun State Roads Fund Board  Administration (OGSRFBA) as well as the one for the Establishment and Management of Ogun State Youth Trust Fund Law, 2022 scaled through first reading at the plenary.

The long titles of the bills were read before the lawmakers by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Deji Adeyemo.

Also, a member representing Ijebu-East State Constituency, Olusola Adams presented a petition titled: Petition against unlawful installation of H.R.H Muideen Olu Hassan as the Elesugbon of Esugbon and Surreptitiously Gazetting the Ruling House at Esugbon Community in the Ijebu-East Local Government of Ogun State", on behalf of Esugbon Community for the consideration of the Assembly.
