Abiodun Presents N472.25bn To Ogun Assembly For 2023, Infrastructure, Education, Health Sectors Top List





Governor Dapo Abiodun on Thursday presented Appropriation bill of N472.25 billion to Ogun State House of Assembly for consideration and approval with Infrastructure, education and health sectors topping the list of allocation for the 2023 fiscal year

Abiodun presenting the proposal christened "Budget of Continued Development and Prosperity" before the lawmakers, said N270.41billion would be expended on capital projects while N201.84billion was earmarked for recurrent expenditure

According to him, education sector  is to get N66.79 billion (14%), health sector ,N51.48billion (11%), Infrastructure N129.37 billion(27%), housing and community development N29.1 billion (6%) agriculture and industry N16.48(3%) recreation and culture religion N6.9billion , judiciary N3.86 billion and legislature N9.56 billion

 "The budget is expected to achieve social cohesion that will continue to focus on equitable socio-economic growth and development of the state-wide", he stated

Abiodun explained that the principal objectives of the budget was maintain and enlarge the economic base while being strategic towards harnessing economic opportunities in the outer years of his administration 

He gave the breakdown of the recurrent expenditure to include N79.47 as personnel cost , N21.12billion as social contributions, N39.9billion (public debt charges and N61.35 for the over head cost of government's ministries, departments and agencies

The governor enjoined the lawmakers to ensure proper scrutiny of the proposal for the benefit of people of the state while commending the leadership of the house under Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo for the support given so far to his administration for recorded in the past three years
