Ogun State House of Assembly is set to begin its second quarter appraisal of the 2022 budget performances of various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government and Local Government Councils in the State to ascertain their level of compliance with the 2022 Appropriation Law
Clerk of the Assembly/ Head of Legislative Service, Mr. ‘Deji Adeyemo who made this known in a statement made available to Edu-biznews on Sunday, said that the exercise would commence this Monday, 25th of July, 2022
According to him, the exercise is part of the oversight functions of the legislative arm of Government in promoting accountability and transparency, in consonance with Sections 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
Adeyemo added that the budget performance assessment would commence at 10:00am daily and end on Wednesday, 3rd August, 2022.
The Clerk in the statement, enjoined all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government as well as Local Government Councils to make available relevant documents and information to ensure the success of the exercise.
Edu-biznews recalled that Governor Dapo Abiodun on 30th of December,2021 signed the 2022 Appropriation Law of N350.74 billion comprising of N197.5billion capital expenditure and N153.18billion recurrent expenditure as passed by the lawmakers
